The transformation of former St. John Neumann High School required the demolition of the school gym, auditorium and priory. The remaining classroom area was converted into 65 one-bedroom apartments. The renovated facility includes community rooms, gathering areas on each floor, along with social services and management offices, off-street parking and green space.
The creation of St. John Neumann Place provides seniors with a warm, welcoming environment through the use of earth tones and rich wood details. Entries were created in the shape of peaked roofs to mimic porches. This traditional language of design imparts a sense of home.
