Blackney Hayes Architects designed an addition to a mid-twentieth century school building. The new two-story ADA accessible multi-purpose space includes a gymnasium, cafeteria, kitchen, assembly space, eight new classrooms, several small-group classrooms, and other supporting spaces. The project also required BHA to comprehensively renovate the existing 54,000 SF building by renovating the classrooms, consolidating the administrative offices, providing a clear, new main entrance, integrating the original building with the new additions, and complying with accessibility codes.
