A memorial to Sam Ozer. Sam was a student at AIM Academy who had just graduated and was on his way home from his job at Trek Bike Shop in Manayunk on Father’s Day, June 2020, when he was hit by a car and sadly, passed away. He had been the captain of the AIM mountain bike team and an avid biker along with his parents.
The AIM community, the Philadelphia biking community, and many others all came together to create this place to honor the memory of a bright, spirited young man and provide a place where his life and passion could continue to inspire the AIM students for generations to come. The building, created from two shipping containers, will be a place where AIM students will learn to repair bikes through a curriculum developed and donated by Project Bike Tech. The interior design, graphics, tools chests, bike stands and bikes were donated by Trek Bicycle Company. All the architectural fees for this project were donated by Blackney Hayes. Special thanks to Tyler Cooney and Darin Jellison for your work on the project, and to Mobilease for providing the containers and the construction to make this building a reality! It was an honor for us to be a part of this special project.
