  • Club History

    Charming Revitalization

For more than a century, the 160 acres of dramatic and rolling expanse off Swedeland Road have provided a respite for the members of Gulph Mills Golf Club to enjoy a haven forged “for social enjoyment and the encouragement of golf.”

Recently, however, it was clear to Gulph Mills’ leaders that their beloved respite was due for a renovation. Blackney Hayes was commissioned to enhance the club’s membership experience while maintaining its historic style.

  • Elevating Clubhouse Design

    Blending Traditional with Modern Amenities

The project required expanding the existing clubhouse to create a new women’s locker room, solarium dining area, and fireplace lounge. The existing member entry and bar were demolished, expanding its footprint and allowing for a new member entry to improve circulation throughout. Interior renovations were made to the long porch, trophy room, and living room to enhance the flow into adjoining spaces and ensure a seamless design concept for the entire clubhouse. And, crucially, the overall design maintained the Club’s traditional charm amidst a suite of modern improvements.

  • Exterior Renovations

    Enclosing the Porch

Exterior renovations consisted of enclosing the existing porch with a NanaWall system and a new bar with a grab-and-go station was created to allow for a three-season venue for members to enjoy.
